We offer two levels of Learn-To-Swim (LTS).
BEGINNERS: this class is designed for children who are willing to enter the water but need the assistance of a floatation device. Typically our beginners are 4-5 years old but the key is that they are willing to enter the water without a parent forcing them to participate. Please note: your child must be potty-trained to enter this class.
INTERMEDIATE: this class is designed for children with a little more experience in the water and are closer to removing their floatation device if assisted by an adult in the water. Typically our Intermediate students are 5-8 years old.
Facts you need to know about Learn-to-Swim (LTS):
* Determining the right class to take is not based on the child's age but on their experience in the water.
* Each session of LTS consists of 8 classes (there are 5 sessions total for the season).
* Each session of LTS is limited to ensure the best instructor/student ratio possible.
* Registration is at a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE basis, and sessions fill up extraordinarily quickly once registration is open.
* Due to the popularity of this program, we cannot refund families if they do not attend their session because once we reach our limit the
registration closes blocking out other potential participants.
* You may sign up for multiple sessions, this was popular last year among our LTS members.
* Our instructors will be in the water with your child.
* Depending on the amount of participants, we have a minimum of 2 lifeguards and 2 certified coaches in attendance each swim session.
* We plan to offer 5 sessions and the fee for each session of LTS is $125 (8 classes per session).
* Our classes run on tandem days with both beginner and intermediate sessions offered on Mon/Wed and Tue/Thurs. See below for schedule.
* Beginners sessions run from 6:30pm-7:10pm.
* Intermediate sessions run from 7:15pm-8pm.
* A floatation device will be provided by HHSC for each individual child.
* Parents are encouraged to watch each class from the atrium but cannot be on the deck during the actual lesson. Assisting your child before
& after the lesson is highly recommended.
